Community

Landmarc conducts its business in a way that minimises environmental impact, promotes positive interaction with the community and is conducted with sound ethical standards.

We take steps to engage with, inform and support our local communities. We focus our recruitment and resourcing on these communities and have, over several years, worked with local individuals and businesses to develop a wide range of skilled, flexible jobs that meet the service needs of the Defence Training Estate and the social needs of the neighbouring areas. The 24/7 nature of military training activity has been an advantage for staff needing non-traditional working rotas to work around care and educational needs.

Through its use of both direct labour and bought in services, Landmarc supports the communities that live and work in rural Britain - the majority of Landmarc’s 2,000 employees and contractors have their roots in rural communities surrounding the training estate. We also work closely with our local landowners, farmers, conservation groups and statutory bodies to ensure that all stakeholders are consulted and kept informed.

Through the links to the left and the events section of the site we hope that you can learn more about the estate in your area, its natural, cultural and historical value, access rights and community events.
