Commercial property management of the tenanted and hired estate is undertaken through SGDN - Landmarc’s commercial property management partner. Good tenant relations are very important on the Defence Training Estate and part of the SGDN role is to maintain those relations and to ensure that tenants are complying with the terms of their tenancy agreements. This includes property maintenance obligations and a condition survey of the estate has created a benchmark for standards of maintenance. SGDN also helps safeguard the estate by monitoring planning applications and development plans.In addition to contractual requirements, SGDN has undertaken diverse projects such as evaluating sporting rights across the estate and providing advice on wind farms and bracken control. A recent project has involved investigating how changes in farming practice may impact on the training and environmental objectives of the Estate.
